Carlisle bus mechanic receives £30,000 compensation for eye injury
A Carlisle bus mechanic represented by Hough Halton & Soal Solicitors has just received £30,000 compensation for an eye injury.
Mr D was attempting to remove the brake disk from the wheel of a bus when he was struck in the eye by a stray fragment of metal. His employers failed to provide him with appropriate eye protection or work equipment and the incident left him with limited sight in his left eye. Representing his client, Mr Jonathan Ditchburn from Hough Halton & Soal said "this case highlights the importance of good health and safety procedures in the workplace - sadly, we are still seeing clients coming forward with similar cases. Today I am pleased that we have been able to help our client who has been awarded £30,000 for his injury."
